Mindraven was originally formed in 1997 as "Wired Community Software", the creators of the forum software title formerly known as WWWThreads (now UBB.Threads). The company at that point was owned by Rick Baker.

In October 2011 Mindraven was purchased by a company in Canada specializing in web hosting and web development.
